How Good It Is looks at the places where two worlds—mine as a religious Jew, and the Amish—overlap. On the surface, these worlds may seem miles apart. But beneath the superficial differences, there are shared values of community, freedom of choice, and emphasis on tradition and faith. I hope this work reminds you that while we may appear vastly different, our lives are often shaped by the same longings—for purpose, for connection to our fellow, and for a life rooted in something greater than ourselves. We’re all so different, until we’re not.
